Spring Cleaning

Each spring there seems to be a part of many of us that gets the itch to spruce up our surroundings. I invite you to take an internal inventory as you clean up your physical environment. How might you benefit from paying attention to the parts of you that are usually tucked away in a dark corner internally?
To be this honest with ourselves can be scary. We will encounter parts of us we do not like (which is why we try to tuck them into a dusty dark corner in the first place). When we try to avoid these parts of ourselves, however, we can be faced with the reality that these dark parts get in the way of us interacting in real and fulfilling ways with those around us. Instead of having these dark parts continue to steal joy from our life, it may be time to pay attention and grow from them.
When we choose the courageous approach of looking at all the parts of what makes us the unique creation we are, the dark parts we once pushed into the corners can be transformed into something that allows us to interact with life in more robust ways.
At Sioux Falls Psychological Services, we are dedicated to walking with you and allowing opportunities to de-clutter your heart, soul, and mind. To schedule an appointment, call us at 605-334-2696.
