Group Opportunities for Fall 2018

Art Group for Adolescents and Teens
Tuesday evenings, starts September 4
6-6:45 p.m. - Ages 12-15
7-7:45 p.m. - Ages 16+

This group provides a fun and relaxed outlet for addressing depression and/or anxiety.  Art group is a 16-session, open-ended group using art as a coping skill.  The 7-7:45 p.m. group is open to college students.   


Friendship Club for Elementary School Students
Tuesdays 5:00-5:50 p.m., starting in August

This group provides encouragement for building self-esteem and social skills.  Friendship Club offers 16 group sessions using art, books, and games to practice skills like greeting each other, making friends, and recognizing feelings.  
 

Kapable Kids for School-Aged Children
Thursdays 6:15 p.m., starting Thursday, September 13

Kapable Kids is a group for school-aged children impacted by domestic violence.  There are 16 group sessions using art, film, books, and games to process feelings and develop coping skills.  
 

Play Pals for Toddlers and Preschoolers (& Caregivers)
Wednesdays at 12 Noon, starting in September

This group uses music, movement, and storytelling to help kids learn and practice social skills.  Play Pals is a 16 session group for children ages birth to five and their caregivers.  An initial consultation is required.  
 

Parent Support Group
Tuesdays 5:00-5:50 p.m., starting in August

Whether you want to learn from other parents or you have a child in Friendship Club, the Parent Support Group explores a number of different topics like normal child development, care of the parent/child relationship, self-care, managing behaviors, school issues, conflict resolution, and the role of technology in the family.
